For the upcoming SSC Exams, we have listed several points which can prove to be beneficial in clearing the exams. After surveying the question paper format and the syllabus pattern, we have shortlisted many important points, which should be followed appropriately in clearing the SSC CGL Exam. These points are:-

1. Questions are Repetitive in SSC exams
If we meticulously follow previous year papers, we will find that SSC repeats questions in almost every section (Reasoning, Mathematics, English and General Awareness). In English Section, the questions are often repeated in One-Word Substitution, Idioms/phrases, Synonyms, Antonyms, Correction of sentences etc. In the Mathematics section, the questions are generally repeated in topics like Mensuration, Trigonometry, and Geometry & Algebra. While looking back at last 5 years papers, we will find that there are approximately 2-3 questions which are repeated every time. In General Awareness section too, you can find many questions getting repeated.

2. General Awareness is vast but still scoring
While analyzing the syllabus of General Awareness section, many students may find it to be very vast, complex and difficult to score. This is not true. In this section, there is a definite pattern in which questions are asked, so it’s important to understand this pattern and get effective techniques for getting SSC Courses.

In addition, if you thoroughly analyze the General Awareness Section of past year papers, you will realize that few question types are repeated almost every year. For instance- folk dances of India, the first in India, Constitutional articles & amendments, commonly used chemicals, Indian sports related etc. If you judge this pattern correctly then General Awareness section can be highly scoring for you. It is important to decode this pattern properly. Do stay updated by reading newspaper daily, reading GK and competition related magazines, TV news channels etc.

3. Learn and understand the basics of Mathematics
There is a general perception among several students that Mathematics section is very tedious, complex and time-consuming. The section covers questions from all major topics like Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration and Trigonometry. They tend to believe that it is impossible to score good marks without the help of shortcuts and tricks. Undoubtedly speaking, they are helpful to some extent but still you need to learn and understand basic concepts to solve various questions. Let us add, tricks and shortcuts can deceive you in last moment but basics won’t, so learn basics thoroughly. The questions from Arithmetic and DI are simpler and easier to score; you can score 100 percent in them. There is another wrong perception that you can’t clear Mathematics section without learning Advanced Mathematics. Out of 100 questions, there are around 5-10 questions from Advanced Mathematics. If you are not prepared Advanced Mathematics well, even then you have strong chances to clear the exam by clearing questions of other sections. One can seek the help of a subject expert from any of the SSC online coaching or SSC Course portal to solve the doubts arising while learning.

4. Current Affairs plays significant role
Generally speaking, the students tend to neglect and ignore the importance of Current Affairs in the General Awareness Section. They believe that most of the questions asked in exam are from History, Polity, Geography, Science & Economics, so they neglect Current Affairs completely. In SSC exam, there are around 4-5 questions from Current Affairs in General Awareness Section. If you cover all major events of last 6 months with their proper details, you can easily crack these questions. This is one major area where many falters but you can succeed by adding 4 to 5 marks to your total score. It will give you an extra edge over your rivals.

5. Concentrate well on Reading Comprehension Section
Reasoning Comprehension section is one section where answer is given in the question paper itself. If you have a good reading speed and good command over English language, it will be easier for you to score. On contrary, many students have the perception that Reading Comprehension section takes too much time and so they avoid it. Furthermore, they develop another notion that avoiding questions based on comprehension will save their time which they can utilize in solving other questions. This is completely wrong thinking and they should change it. They should practice harder in reading fast and understanding passage properly. The answers lie within passage, so this section can be very scoring for them. You can easily score 5-10 marks easily. The other good factor is that you don’t have to memorize any formulae, facts, figures etc to solve these questions. It’s your understanding level and good observation which will work wonders for you.
